I’m Preston LaMar — a filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller with over a decade of hands-on experience in the construction industry. Before launching LaMar Productions, I spent 10 years working side by side with my father, a general contractor specializing in high-end custom homes throughout the Bay Area. From foundation to final finishes, I learned every phase of the building process inside and out.

I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was a kid, and bring over 15 years of experience in photography and filmmaking. I also studied photography and film at Cabrillo College, building a strong foundation in both the technical and creative sides of visual storytelling.

That background is what sets me apart from most videographers and photographers. I’m not just showing up with a camera — I understand the language of the job site, the sequence of a project, and the craftsmanship behind every detail. I know where the story is in a build, when key milestones happen, and how to capture them in a way that speaks to both clients and industry professionals.

Whether it’s documenting the scale of a commercial development, creating a cinematic showcase of a finished custom home, or capturing the precision of specialized trade work, I approach every project with a builder’s eye and a storyteller’s vision. My goal is simple: to help construction companies, contractors, and trades showcase their work with visuals that truly reflect the skill, expertise, and hard work behind it.
